Survey of temporo mandibular joint pain

Abstract

The survey of DTM pain allows to detect the pain in the specific zones and points of it.This guides the clinic and makes him direct his treatment to an specific area and not to the whole articulation. This is why we can get a differentiated diagnosis.The mapping of the DTM pain is a procedure of fast evaluation, its main objective is identify clinically the affected structure so that we can focus in a correct therapy, and its advantage is that its allows the early clinical diagnosis of the DTM alterations.This procedure consists of compress or loosen 8 anatomic zones of each DTM, to evaluatein a quick and effective way the painful sensibility of the soft tissues of the joint ( synovial and ligaments) . In this article we describe the 8 basic points for the for the differential diagnosis of the pain and the procedure for its evaluation in the patient during its clinical exam,according with Rocabado Seaton method.
